Experience Verification Statuses
If you have submitted an Experience Verification request, you may be wondering what happens next and what each status means. This article explains the most common statuses you may see and what actions, if any, are required.
Common Statuses
Submitted
What it means:
• Your request was successfully submitted.
What to do:
• No action is needed at this time.
• Allow the employer time to review and respond.
Pending
After submission, the request will appear in your dashboard under the Pending tab located in the center of your screen. If you are unable to locate the pending verification, contact Support for assistance.
What it means:
• The request has been routed to the employer’s account you selected or via email to the recipient you manually entered.
What to do:
• Monitor the request status for updates.
• You will receive email updates from Verifent once the employer has started the verification(s).
• If the request remains pending for an extended period, consider contacting the employer directly.
• If the email address needs to be updated:
• Upgrade to DashHire Prime to resend the verification to an updated email address.
• Cancel the pending verification and resubmit your request to the employer with updated contact information.
Important: A pending status does not indicate a system problem. Requests remain pending until the recipient has responded. Most delays occur because the former employer has not yet responded. In some cases, older employment records may take longer for employers to locate.
Completed
What it means:
• The employer has completed and submitted the verification.
What to do:
• No additional action is necessary unless instructed by your hiring entity.
Declined
What it means:
• The employer declined the verification.
What to do:
• Download the completed verification to review the declined details.
• If resubmission is required, reach out to Verifent Support using the chat icon at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen.
Deferred
What it means:
• The employer deferred the verification until a later date in accordance with their organization’s policies.
What to do:
• No further action is required at this time.
• Email notifications are sent and include the reason and end date for the deferral.
• To review the reason and end date of the deferral in your Employee Portal:
• Navigate to the Pending verifications tab on your Dashboard.
• Click the verification type.
• Resubmitting the request is not necessary and may cause further delays, as verifications are typically completed in the order in which they are received.
No Reply
What it means:
• The employer or recipient did not respond to the verification request within the expected timeframe.
What to do:
• Review the request details to confirm the employer or recipient information is correct.
• If the contact information is incorrect, resubmit it with the updated information.
• If you are unsure if the information is correct, consider contacting the employer directly to request contact information.
Cancelled
What it means:
• The verification request was cancelled and is no longer active.
What to do:
• No action is required if the cancellation was intentional.
• If the verification is still needed, submit a new request confirming the employer or recipient information.
